As the days get colder and decidedly shorter, there is no escaping the fact that we are heading rapidly towards Christmas. It’s too late to start wondering where the summer went, or indeed where the year went, especially if like me you haven’t got around to carrying out any of your 2017 new year resolutions yet! Christmas is almost here.
Christmas is fun, it brings us light in the darkness –usually bright and twinkly; brings us together with friends old and new at parties and family get togethers but fundamentally is a time when we should think of others. It is a time of giving (and, if you have been good, hopefully receiving) which means at some point you will have to do some Christmas shopping! Yes, the sooner the better (really!).
However fear not for help is at hand. Ace Taxis has a solution for the enthusiastic whisky drinker but reluctant shopper. If you fall into this category can we suggest that we pick you up from your home/hotel/railway station and take you to some of Moray Speyside’s great Whisky distilleries where you can tour the distillery, then shop in the distillery shops and most crucially – try before you buy! The shops sell whisky (of course) but also some great gifts such as the Macallan ice ball maker or Benromach branded items including clothing.
Then we can return you back to your home or hotel, loaded with your shopping and feeling very smug that you managed it all so easily and in such style!
Of course, it doesn’t have to be all about whisky ‘though – Moray is home to many vibrant towns with great independent shops as well as some great stores around the region full to bursting with amazing gifts including Christies of Fochabers; McKenzie and Cruickshank; Brodie Countryfare and of course for that essential cashmere Christmas jumper, Johnstons of Elgin. Let us take you there in style and comfort!
Or how about a combination of both – give Ace Taxis a call and we can plan an itinerary to suit all!
Benromach; Cardhu, Glenfiddich; Glengrant; Glen Moray; Macallan are all open at varying times Monday to Friday until Christmas; Strathisla distillery is open for visits but unfortunately their shop closed until March) See www.maltwhiskytrail.com for information.
